Biography:
Judge Eric Williams is currently the Division 6 Judge of the 18th Judicial District Court. He was elected in 2016. Prior to taking the bench in January 2017, Judge Williams was an Assistant District Attorney in the Shawnee County District Attorney's Office trial division from 2000 to 2003. From 2003 to 2008 he was an Assistant District Attorney in the trial division of Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office. He served as Chief Legal Counsel to the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training (KSCPOST) – the agency that regulates the law enforcement profession in Kansas – from 2008 to 2017.
Judge Williams is a member of the Wichita Bar Association and Kansas Bar Association. He is active with the Wichita Crime Commission. Judge Williams is a member of the 2014 class of Leadership Kansas. Judge Williams attended Wichita State University where he received his B.A. in 1997 before going on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law in 2000.
