Biography:

          Judge Mitchell is currently the Division 22 Judge of the 18th Judicial District Court. She was appointed in August of 2015 by then Governor Sam Brownback. From 2003 until her appointment, Judge Mitchell was in private practice at Woodard, Hernandez, Roth & Day, L.L.C. She handled general litigation matters, both plaintiff and defense, as well as some medical malpractice defense, and workers compensation. Judge Mitchell was an in-house corporate attorney for Triad Associates for six years focusing on matters of contract, employment, business organizations, real estate, and franchise law. Judge Mitchell started her legal career in 1994 as an Assistant District Attorney here in Sedgwick County. She has participated in many trials, both criminal and civil. In addition to practicing law, Judge Mitchell has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in business law, human resources, and economics since 2000.

          Judge Mitchell earned her B.A. in Economics, Masters of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas
