Judge Linda Kirby is currently the Division 17 Judge of the 18th Judicial District Court. She was appointed in 2018. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Kirby has been a practicing Attorney for 29 years. Judge Kirby has argued cases in Kansas District Courts, Appellate Courts, and on all levels of Federal Courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
Judge Kirby has spent time as a Law Professor in several learning institutions including the University of Richmond School of Law where she taught Tax Policy and Estate Planning, Newman University where she taught Business Law, Wichita State University where she taught students Estate Planning, and continuing Legal Education for the Sedgwick County Attorneys.
Judge Kirby received her Bachelor's degree from Wichita State University in linguistics/English, with a minor in economics. Judge Kirby also received her Master's degree from WSU with the emphasis in City Management, Juris Doctorate, cum laude, Merit Scholar, outstanding Property Student, student law clerk to the Chief Justice of Oklahoma Supreme Court.
