Biography:
Grant A. Brazill was sworn in as a District Court Judge for Division 10 on January 2, 2026. Judge Brazill is a Wichita native and 2007 graduate of Northwest High School. Judge Brazill earned his undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from Wichita State, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Kansas in 2015. Judge Brazill attends West Ridge Community Church, where he and his wife Mandi volunteer in the nursery.
Judge Brazill has dedicated his legal career to ensuring that Kansas families have access to high-quality legal representation. While working as a partner at Morris Laing Law Firm, Judge Brazill accepted court-appointments for parents, grandparents, foster placements, and other interested parties in Child in Need of Care (CINC) cases. Judge Brazill also served as a court-appointed guardian ad litem in both CINC and domestic custody cases. In addition to his work with Kansas families, Judge Brazill served as the municipal prosecutor for the City of Goddard.
Judge Brazill is actively engaged in serving the legal profession by serving on the Kansas Supreme Court Task Force for Permanency Planning, the Kansas Judicial Council’s Juvenile Offender/Child in Need of Care Task Force, and regularly presenting for the Office of Judicial Administration’s Best Practices in Child Welfare continuing education seminars. Judge Brazill has authored the Child in Need of Care Chapter of the Kansas Bar Association Annual Survey of Kansas Law since 2019, and co-authored a Washburn Law Journal article providing guidance on accepting and handling court appointments in child welfare cases.
Judge Brazill is committed to serving the Wichita and Sedgwick County community. In addition to working through his church, Judge Brazill regularly volunteers with Ronald McDonald House and Wichita Food Rescue.
