WHAT IS THE FAMILY LAW SELF-HELP CENTER?

The Family Law Self-Help Center exists to assist unrepresented litigants resolve their family law issues in Sedgwick County. The staff of the Family Law Department is dedicated to providing the information and forms necessary for unrepresented litigants to participate in court procedures and resolve their cases. However, the Family Law Self Help Center does not provide legal advice.

WHAT IS AN UNREPRESENTED LITIGANT?

Unrepresented litigants are individuals who represent themselves because they do not wish to hire an attorney or they cannot afford an attorney. Volunteers may be onsite on Wednesdays from noon to 3:00pm to assist unrepresented litigants with the completion of the forms. These volunteers do not give legal advice. Court Clerks & Aides within the Family Law Department cannot provide legal advice or recommend a specific course of action on any case.

LOCATION AND HOURS

The Family Law Self-Help Center is located on the 4th floor of the Sedgwick County Courthouse.

Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
