Prior Professional Experience: Since graduating law school in 1978 and before taking the bench in 2001, Judge Pullman served in the USAF JAG Corps, was City Prosecutor for the City of Wichita and had been in the private practice of law for over 17 years, gaining substantial experience in Criminal Law, Civil Law and Family Law. He represented clients in hundreds of hearings, bench trials and in over 60 jury trials.
Judicial Experience: Since taking the bench in 2001, Judge Pullman has served rotations in the Criminal Department, the Civil Department, the Traffic Department and the Family Law Department.
He has presided over jury trials ranging from 1st Degree Murder to Theft cases, from Medical Malpractice Law Suits to Groundwater Pollution and Toxic Mold Trials, and from high asset Divorce cases to highly contested Child Custody trials. He maintains his own PV and sentencing docket even when on assignment with Departments other than Criminal.
Personal: Judge Pullman is a member of several local, state and national professional legal associations, including the Wichita and Kansas and American Bar Associations. He is an active and involved member of our community, having been a long time member of the Rotary Club, being a frequent RIF Reader and lecturer to elementary and middle school classes and having been a long time volunteer and Games Management Team member for Kansas Special Olympics.
Judge Pullman and his wife, Patty, are very active members of their parish church. He has been a long term member of the Board of Directors for the Wichita Children’s Theatre and Dance Center and has been a very active member of several committees in the public school district attended by his children. Judge Pullman and Patty have two “1996 issue” twins – a boy and a girl. The children’s school and Terry and Patty’s other other activities keep them very busy and involved in our community.
