Adding a Crystal Report to a KICS database
- Connect to the server on where the KICS application resides. This can be accomplished several ways depending on the user’s knowledge and security level. Here are three options
a. Sign on to the server locally with a valid id
b. Map a drive from your PC to the share that points to the KICS application (i.e. map a drive to servername\sharename), if you have security to add files to this directory
c. Connect to the server using Terminal Services. Note: Terminal Services must be installed on both the server and the client PC
- Copy the Crystal Report into x:\fullcrt\reports. Where x is the drive on the server that the KICS installation resides and fullcrt is the directory. Note: if you are mapping a drive to the server share (b. above) then copy the Crystal Report into the reports directory under the share.
- Open an instance of KICS.
- Select the Reports button on the tool bar.
- Click on Rebuild Report Tree from the drop down list under Crystal on the menu bar.
- After clicking OK all reports in the Reports directory will be added to KICS.
- These reports will then be accessible under Select Reports from the same drop down list as in step 5.
